Where is a student's right?

Dear A.XX,

I think we need to discuss regards this matter krub.

My understanding is, sending our work to XX or attending in his special class is not an obligation. Hence, each student has his/her right to make such decision.

Therefore, the way XX send the first email (on Tuesday, November 20, 2007) as well as this one to all students, including Charles and mentioned on the names of those unsubmitted paper was not polite.

On the other way, I just felt that he has no right to do (disgrace/discredit) so.

Please help clarify krub. And I will come talk to you at the university once I get back to Thailand.

Best Regards,
Neil

XX,

We had a writing support workshop on Saturday, 24 November at the campus. We focused on understanding what “the literature’ is and how clarifying the problem statement helps limit the scope of and direct the literature search. We also did some work on editing and covered some of the common causes of the most frequent types of errors (subject-verb agreements, plural forms, word formation and word choice).

Three people attended. One of the three sent me an email asking me to check his third revision and said: ’”Thank you for the class this morning too. I really help me a lot.” I think the other two might say something similar but we would have to ask them.

The irony is that the people who need the least help with their writing are the ones who showed up for the workshop. That doesn’t mean the people who showed up don’t need help or don’t deserve help. I don’t think it means they are any less busy than their classmates either.

I wonder why the other people are not taking advantage of the support that university is paying for? Especially when those people very clearly need a lot of help with their writing and these assignments are such a great opportunity to get that help.

Cheers,

XX

XX just sent me her first draft for assignment 3. Assignment 3 is a bit more work than assignment 1 and 2 and takes me a bit longer to read and make comments on.

Don’t leave it to the last minute or I can’t promise I will be able to return comments to you in time.

I have not seen any assignments yet from:
