Ampawa Market and its Firefly

The gang; Toung (Kang's sister), Glouy-McCann, Kang-MPG, P'Aey-Euro RSCG and Aey-FedEx

Another good day trip with my mates from MPG, Euro RSCG and McCann.

The original idea of this trip is quite confused as each team being received a different information regards the purpose of the trip.
One assumed that it is a day trip to see the original life of the well known Ampawa Floating Market.
On the other hand, another one was acknowledged that this is a visit to the wetland, a home of firefly.

In conclusion....we made it all to satisfy everyone!

We started the trip in the afternoon of Saturday, then roamed down for Samutsongkram province.

The first stop is called Wat Nang Sao (temple of the virgins) as requested by Kang.
There is nothing much at the temple, but the school of fish really impressed us. There are lots of big fish in the river.

Next, we moved to the most memorable spot at the Ampawa Floating Market.
Lots of food and sweets, most of them being cooked and sold from a small little boat.

The boat that sells grilled squid attracted me the most

Wating for your rides

It's time to go home

Finally, the climax of the trip...the firefly route!

Budget summary
A tank of gas :: Baht 1,500
Yummy dinner :: Baht 100
Long-tailed boat rental for six :: Baht 600
Parking space :: Baht 40

A small note of history from our dinner.
Long time ago, when soda drink firstly arrived to the land of smile, they were called "Ma-Net" drinks!

The Ma-Net is somewhat off the mark from the originally English dialect of Lemonade.

Here is the Ma-Net drink
