2 Days in Paris, the Movie

In Thailand, this film is being described as a French indies. Therefore, it is hopeless to be able to see the story in a regular cinemas.

I was very lucky enough to pass by House Rama, Thailand's only Indy theatre and learnt that the film to be playing (just only on) August 30, 2007.

The story is simple...showing on an ordinary life of a couple, who have been living their lives in NYC for two years.
It just like the other couples that during the sweet-old-days, everything goes right and beautiful. However, at the time passes by....parts of each point of views are no longer as sweet as it used to be.

Through the movie, I see that relationship is such a sensitive issue.
A couple must have a strong believe and trust to one another to pass through the situation....otherwise the two years relationship will easily be destroyed within two days.

Here are some of the points I see through the film....very simple, but real.

  1. It is not easy to accepted the real you...not at all. To love someone from the good side is not the point, but the problem is "none of the people is willing to accept the bad points of one another".
  2. You have got to look at yourself before having a bad attitude on others.
The story shows that Jack (leading actor, as an American) denied to use Paris' public transportation; Metro and Bus as he was so scared with terrorist. Then the leading actress replied "is it safe to use the NYC subway?".
  3. Love life is such a sick-routine....once you broke up, you will be spending the first two months as a stupid. Doing thing just to forget the good-old-day; got drunk, being click with someone and then break up or running around.
And once you have got a new date, you will keep telling yourself that he/she is the right one.....until you have realised that it is again ending in the same old way.

Revised on September 3, 2007:-
In additional to my thought through this movie, another wise point of view came up with Golf, a good brother of mine.

He came up with an idea on the time and occasion. If you can read Thai, I would suggest you to take a look on this Hi5 Journal at http://golffyey.hi5.com

Your points hit me! Especially the third one, "you will keep telling yourself that he/she is the right one.....until you have realised that it is again ending in the same old way." Oh, love is so miserable!
